A solid read!
I appreciated Alyssa’s Author’s Note giving a little insight into how she wrote the book as it relates to Welsh mythology. I like the fact she used real names I could search to find out more. I am a big fan of mythologies, so this was book was right up my alley.
The maidens in the water reminded me of Sirens of Greek mythology, singing a song to entrance unfortunate travelers to their doom. The most beautiful women are the last thing they see before their fate is sealed.
I like the way this story went, providing a life lesson from a tragic event. It makes me want to dig into Welsh mythology for more. It’s a short story and there is enough to get me interested in reading more from Alyssa.
